Review
The bidding for building sites is an interesting addition to the basic Settlers of Catan gameplay, but this game is frustrating because you build all your settlements and then there's nothing to do while Alexander keeps marching. We prefer to play our expanded variant, adding more settlements and cities. The ending can take forever, because Alexander can't move the last few spaces until sevens are rolled.
VARIANT
Use a double set of settlements and cities, and if you want, add extra hexes off the edge of the board, then go for broke buidling massively and see who has the most points when Alexander finally gets where he's going.
